Last Week and Next Week

Once Your enemy, now seated at Your table, Jesus thank you!

The words of the chorus sent chills up my arms as I drove our fifteen passenger van full of talkative brothers and sisters and one happy grandmother to the nearby strawberry patch to pick strawberries. Last week the kids and I, minus Luke who had to stay in town to go to school, spent an entire week with my grandparents on their farm while mom and dad went to Destin, Florida for a business trip/mini vacation. We had so much fun! My grandparents have a little guesthouse that most of us squeezed into. During the week we played games, rode bicycles, the boys worked with grandad roofing a shed, and us girls attempted to help grandma with some house work. My good friend Deanna suprised me one night by coming up to spend the night with me..Fun! Grandma kept us well fed and entertained as we had full blown meals with a special banana split night. MMMMMMmmmmmmmmmm. The last thing we did was load up in the van and pick strawberries. I am really thankful to have such wonderful grandparents that would let us move in with them for a week! What fun memories we made.

It was wonderful to have my parents back even though we had such a blast at the farm..... really made me appreciate my mom and dad in new ways. Not only was I trying to help grandma look after the kids physical needs, but also realized they had emotional and spiritual needs as well (duh). Ok, so maybe I didn't really understand how much my parents pour into our lives. I think I have a better picture now. Thank you God for giving my parents the grace to do what they do, 'cause I sure can't do it!

The New Attitude conference that I'm attending with my dad, Luke and Deanna is in 9 days! Yeah!!! Deanna also graduates from highschool on the 27th. There is a lot going on that weekend. If I do summer school I start back the day after I get back from the conference. I think I may take Calc II over the summer because it looks like my summer cleaning job will be just down the road from the school. I really want to get Calc II out of the way so I can take Statistics in the fall with other classes and this may be a good opportunity (that is, if I can get my act together and sign up before the deadline). Three weeks ago I claimed I would never touch Calculus again after my struggle to get a B in Calc I, but the Lord has a sense of humor by giving me a desire to continue on. It is only by God's grace that I was able to get a B, I literally watched Him turn my grades 18o degrees there at the end. I don't know what the Lord has in store for me with this direction, but am trying to trust Him and just be faithful to follow.

Even though it is a relief to be done with school, I have struggled with being consistent in my devotions. Funny how in the heat of the semester I made time because I knew it was vital to me staying close to the Lord, and now that the pressure is off and I am home in a "safe" environment, I have become lazy. I need God's grace to be able to see my need for Him all of the time!

Well, I am going to head for bed. Somehow the clock on this blogger is messed up. It is about 1:15 in the morning, somehow it always says afternoon. Oh well. Blessings to all!

I am too! Maybe we can get into a small group together while we are up there. I miss seeing you at school, how is your summer going? I am riding up with my dad, brother, and a very good friend. What about you?
